Wan AI Video Generator — Free Text & Image to Video Online
Generate cinematic videos with Wan 2.5 right in your browser. No installation, no GPU, no watermark — type a prompt or upload an image, and render in about a minute.
Wan (万相 / Wanxiang) is a video model family by Alibaba. SeedDance is an independent platform providing hosted access — not affiliated with Alibaba.
Wan-style clips, made here
Generated on the hosted engines — hover to preview, click any card to view the prompt and the engine that made it.
The easiest way to run Wan 2.5
No GPU required
The open 2.1/2.2 checkpoints are heavy to self-host and 2.5 has no public weights at all. We run the hosted engines on cloud GPUs — you just type.
Native audio sync
Wan 2.5 generates synchronized sound with the video: ambience, effects, even dialogue land on the beat.
Text & image input
Start from a prompt, or upload a still image and direct its motion. Both modes are free to try.
Model fallback
Queue busy? Run the same prompt on Seedance 2.0 or Kling 3.0 — similar cinematic results, one click away — or on the hosted multi-engine generator.
Generate a Wan video in 3 steps
Write your prompt
Describe subject, motion and camera. Specific beats vague: "low-angle tracking shot, 35mm, neon rain" beats "cool video". Prompts work in English, 中文, Bahasa Indonesia, Português and most major languages.
Pick model & format
Wan 2.5 for realism with audio. 9:16 for Reels/TikTok/Shorts, 16:9 for YouTube.
Generate & download
About 60–90 seconds. Download a clean MP4 — no watermark, full rights to your video.
What is Wan AI?
Wan (通义万相, "Tongyi Wanxiang") is a family of AI video generation models developed by Alibaba. Given a text prompt or a still image, Wan generates short cinematic video clips — with realistic motion, camera language, and, since Wan 2.5, natively synchronized audio.
Wan built its reputation as one of the strongest open-weight video model families: 2.1 and 2.2 are published under Apache 2.0 with weights on GitHub and Hugging Face, so anyone can run them on their own hardware. That changed with 2.5 — Alibaba's Wan-AI repository still stops at 2.2, and 2.5 onward ship API-first with no public weights. So 2.5 is something you access, not something you download.
SeedDance runs Wan on cloud GPUs so you can use it like any web app: open this page, describe your shot, and download an MP4. Your first videos are free to try — no card required.

Wan AI, answered
Is Wan AI free to use?
The open-weight versions (2.1 and 2.2) are free if you self-host them on your own GPU; 2.5 and newer are API-only, so they are paid wherever you run them. On SeedDance you get free starter generations — no card required, and free daily credits with a free account. Paid plans remove queue limits.
What is Wan AI?
Wan (通义万相) is a family of AI video generation models by Alibaba that turn text prompts or images into short cinematic clips. See the full explainer above.
Is this the official Wan website?
No. The official project pages are wan.video and the Wan-Video GitHub organization. SeedDance is an independent platform that hosts the Wan engines so you can use them without any setup.
Is Wan AI a Chinese company?
Wan is developed by Alibaba's Tongyi Lab, based in China, and released openly to the global community. SeedDance is an independent international platform.
How much does Wan AI cost?
Self-hosting is free but needs serious hardware. Here, your first videos are free to try; after that, videos cost credits. A 5-second 1080p clip renders in about a minute.
Wan vs Kling vs Seedance — which is better?
Wan leads on native audio (and, on 2.1/2.2, on open weights you can self-host); Kling on motion control; Seedance on multi-shot consistency. The comparison table above has details — or just run your prompt on all three here.
Do generated videos have a watermark?
No. Free and paid videos both download as clean MP4 files.
Can I use Wan videos commercially?
Yes — SeedDance grants you full rights to videos you generate here. (For self-hosted 2.1/2.2, the Apache 2.0 license also permits commercial use of outputs.)
How long does a video take to generate?
Typically 40–90 seconds for a 5-second 1080p clip, depending on queue load. 10-second clips take proportionally longer.
Can I run Wan locally?
Only up to 2.2 — those weights are on GitHub and Hugging Face with mature ComfyUI workflows, and you will want a high-end GPU. Wan 2.5 and newer have no public weights, so they cannot be run locally at all.
What's the difference between Wan 2.2 and Wan 2.5?
Wan 2.5 adds natively synchronized audio, higher fidelity at 1080p, and better prompt adherence. Wan 2.2's Animate variant remains the pick for character animation from reference video.
Does Wan support image-to-video?
Yes. Upload a still image, describe the motion you want, and Wan animates it — the second tab in the generator above.
What languages can I write prompts in?
English and Chinese work natively; Bahasa Indonesia, Português and Spanish prompts also work well. The interface is available in English, Bahasa Indonesia and Português.
