Seedance 2.0 AI Video Generator — Free Text & Image to Video Online
Seedance 2.0 generates multi-shot video with synchronized audio in a single pass. It is the default engine behind the generator on this page — write a prompt or upload an image, render in about a minute, download a clean MP4.
Seedance is an AI video model family by ByteDance. SeedDance — this site — is a separate, independent platform providing hosted access. We are not ByteDance, not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by ByteDance, and not an official Seedance reseller. The similar name is not a claim of ownership; the official source is ByteDance's Seed lab at seed.bytedance.com.

What Seedance 2.0 is good at
Audio and video in one pass
Seedance 2.0 generates sound with the picture rather than after it — ambience, effects, music and dialogue land on the frame they belong to. You can also turn audio off and take the silent clip.
Multi-shot without stitching
One prompt can contain cuts. The subject, wardrobe, lighting and location hold across shot transitions, so a three-beat sequence comes out of a single generation instead of three renders you have to match by hand.
Reference-conditioned generation
Feed it images, clips and audio as references and the output follows them — the practical way to keep one character or one product looking like itself across a whole set of shots.
The image side of the same lab
ByteDance's image model family is Seedream — same lab, built for stills, strong on readable in-image text. Storyboard frames there, animate them here. If the video queue is busy, Kling 3.0 and Veo 3.1 run the same prompt from the model picker above.
Generate a Seedance video in 3 steps
Write the shot, not the vibe
Seedance rewards specificity. Name the subject, the motion, the camera move and the sound: "handheld push-in on a chef plating dessert, warm kitchen light, clatter and low jazz" beats "nice food video". If you want cuts, write them as separate beats in one prompt. Prompts work in English, 中文, Bahasa Indonesia, Português and most major languages.
Pick format and length
9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts; 16:9 for YouTube and web; 1:1 for feed posts. Start at 5 seconds while you are iterating on the prompt and go to 10 once the shot is right — it costs less to find your mistakes short.
Generate and download
Renders typically finish in about a minute. The download is a clean MP4 with no watermark, and you hold full rights to what you generate here.
What is Seedance?
Seedance is ByteDance's family of AI video generation models, published by its Seed research lab. Given a text prompt, a still image, or a set of reference materials, Seedance produces short video clips — and its stated design goal has always been narrative video rather than single pretty shots: motion that obeys physics, camera language a director would recognise, and consistency that survives a cut.
First, the name. SeedDance — this website — is not Seedance the model, and we are not ByteDance. This is an independent platform that gives you hosted access to video generation in a browser. ByteDance neither operates nor endorses this site, and the resemblance between the two names is not a claim of ownership, partnership or authority. If you are looking for ByteDance's own material on the model, it lives at seed.bytedance.com. We say this up front because the whole page is about a model we did not build.
Seedance 1.0 arrived in June 2025 and set the family's reputation: native multi-shot storytelling from both text and image, 1080p output, and prompt adherence strong enough that the model would follow a shot list rather than reinterpret it. Its distinguishing trick was keeping the main subject, the visual style and the atmosphere stable across shot transitions — the thing most video models break on.
Seedance 2.0 followed in February 2026 and widened the model in two directions. It generates audio and video jointly in one pass, so dialogue, sound effects, ambience and music are produced with the picture instead of being dubbed onto it afterwards. And it takes multimodal conditioning: public API hosts expose up to nine reference images, three video clips and three audio files in a single generation, which is what makes it usable for keeping a character, a product or a location consistent across a batch of shots.
ByteDance ships Seedance through its own products and through a cloud API; there is no standalone consumer website under the Seedance name, which is why searches for it turn up a crowd of third-party generators. SeedDance is one of them, and we would rather be honest about the arrangement than pretend otherwise: generation on this page is served through PonPon's hosted API, which runs Seedance 2.0 among other frontier engines. You get a browser front end, your first generations free with no card, and clean MP4 downloads with no watermark.

Seedance model versions
| Version | Released | What changed |
|---|---|---|
| Seedance 1.0 | Jun 2025 | Established the family: native multi-shot storytelling from text and image, 1080p, strong prompt adherence, subject and style consistency across cuts |
| Seedance 2.0 | Feb 2026 | Joint audio + video generation in one pass; multimodal reference conditioning (up to 9 images, 3 clips, 3 audio files); automated multi-shot narrative and more convincing physics |
| Seedance 2.0 mini | Jun 2026 | Lighter, faster variant of 2.0 aimed at cheaper high-volume generation |
| Seedance 2.5 | Jul 2026 | Announced at ByteDance's Volcano Engine FORCE conference: native 30-second single-segment clips, up to 50 multimodal references, and local re-draw editing that changes one region without regenerating the whole clip |
SeedDance runs the newest hosted version available to us by default — currently the Seedance 2.0 line. Versions reach hosted platforms after they reach ByteDance's own products, so there is normally a lag between an announcement and the day you can run it here.
Seedance vs Kling vs Veo
| Seedance 2.0 | Kling 3.0 | Veo 3.1 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Developer | ByteDance | Kuaishou | Google DeepMind |

None of the three is open-weight; all three are things you access rather than download. All three run here — put the same prompt through each and judge the output rather than the marketing.
Seedance, answered
Is SeedDance the same as Seedance?
No. Seedance is ByteDance's video model family. SeedDance is this website — an independent platform, run by a separate company, that provides hosted access to video generation in a browser. We are not ByteDance, we are not affiliated with or endorsed by ByteDance, and we are not an official Seedance reseller. The names are similar; that is not a claim of ownership, partnership or authority over the model. ByteDance's own material is at seed.bytedance.com.
What is Seedance?
Seedance is ByteDance's family of AI video generation models, developed by its Seed research lab. It turns text prompts, images or reference material into short video clips, and is known for multi-shot narrative consistency — keeping the subject, style and atmosphere stable across cuts within a single generation. Seedance 2.0 added synchronized audio generated together with the picture. The full explainer is above.
Is Seedance free?
ByteDance does not publish a free standalone Seedance product; access runs through its own apps and a paid cloud API. On SeedDance your first generations are free to try with no card required, and a free account earns daily credits. Paid plans exist for volume and to skip queue limits.
Is this the official Seedance site?
No. The official source is ByteDance's Seed research lab at seed.bytedance.com. SeedDance is an independent platform that hosts video generation so you can use it without an API key or any setup. Nothing on this page is published, reviewed or approved by ByteDance.
Is Seedance 2.0 actually the engine running on this page?
Yes — Seedance 2.0 is the default engine behind the generator above, and it is what runs when you press Generate. To be precise about how: generation is served through PonPon's hosted API, which provides access to Seedance 2.0 along with other frontier engines. We do not operate the model ourselves and we hold no official reseller status with ByteDance.
What is the difference between Seedance 1.0, 2.0 and 2.5?
1.0 (June 2025) established multi-shot generation from text and image at 1080p. 2.0 (February 2026) added audio generated jointly with the video and multimodal reference conditioning — images, clips and audio as input. 2.5, announced in mid-2026, extends single-segment clips to 30 seconds, raises the reference limit substantially, and adds local editing so you can change one region of a clip instead of regenerating all of it. The version table above has the detail.
Does Seedance generate sound?
Seedance 2.0 does. Audio and video are generated together in one pass rather than dubbed on afterwards, so ambience, effects, music and dialogue are aligned with the picture by construction. You can also disable audio and take a silent clip if you are scoring it yourself.
Can Seedance do image-to-video?
Yes. Upload a still, describe the motion and the camera, and the model animates it while staying consistent with your source image — that consistency was a stated strength of the family from 1.0 onward. Use the image tab in the generator above.
Can I run Seedance locally?
No. ByteDance has not released Seedance model weights publicly, so there is nothing to download and no local or ComfyUI setup for it — unlike open-weight families such as Wan 2.1 and 2.2, whose checkpoints are on Hugging Face. Seedance is something you access through an API or a hosted platform.
Do generated videos have a watermark?
Not from us. Free and paid renders both download as clean MP4 files with no SeedDance watermark or badge burned in.
Can I use Seedance videos commercially?
Yes — SeedDance grants you full rights to the videos you generate here, including commercial use. As with any generative model, you are still responsible for what you prompt: do not generate real people's likenesses, trademarks or copyrighted characters and then publish them commercially.
Seedance vs Kling vs Veo — which should I use?
Seedance leads on multi-shot consistency and reference conditioning, which makes it the pick when one character or product has to look the same across several shots. Kling leads on motion control and camera work. Veo leads on physical realism and audio fidelity. All three are hosted here, so the fastest answer is to run your actual prompt through each and compare.
How long does a Seedance video take to generate?
Typically around a minute for a 5-second clip, depending on queue load and whether audio is enabled. 10-second clips take proportionally longer. Iterate at 5 seconds and only go long once the prompt is doing what you want.
Is Seedance a Chinese model?
Seedance is developed by ByteDance's Seed research lab; ByteDance is headquartered in China. SeedDance is an independent international platform and has no corporate relationship with ByteDance.
