What is LTX Video?

LTX Video (LTXV) is Lightricks' family of open video generation models, launched in November 2024 as the first DiT-based open model built for speed — its distilled variants generate faster than real time on data-center GPUs. The line grew through 0.9.x releases (keyframes, a 13B variant, 60-second long-form) into LTX-2, announced October 2025: native 4K at up to 50fps with synchronized audio, whose full weights were opened in January 2026.

Open weights are the appeal — and self-hosting reality bites at the high end. The small distilled models run on modest GPUs, but 13B-class and LTX-2 4K generation want serious VRAM, and the LTX-2 license is free for smaller companies while larger ones need a commercial license. As usual: weights on GitHub and Hugging Face, assembly required.
