The open-source look, without the setup

No 60GB GPU required

Hunyuan's original 13B model wants data-center VRAM; the 1.5 release still means quantization and ComfyUI plumbing. Here you just type.

Generation runs on Seedance 2.0 and Kling 3.0 — frontier engines in the same class for cinematic realism and motion. Compare with Wan, the other big open-source line.

Start from a prompt, or upload a still and direct its motion — both modes free to try, up to 1080p.

Sobre

What is Hunyuan Video?

Hunyuan Video (混元) is Tencent's family of open-source AI video generation models. The original December 2024 release was, at 13B+ parameters, the largest open-source video model of its time, with quality competitive with closed models; an image-to-video variant followed in March 2025, and HunyuanVideo 1.5 (November 2025) slimmed the line to 8.3B parameters tuned for consumer GPUs, covering both text-to-video and image-to-video.

Open weights are the appeal — and the catch. The original 13B model wants roughly 45–60GB of VRAM for inference; even the efficiency-focused 1.5 realistically needs a modern GPU, quantization tricks and ComfyUI plumbing to run well at 480p–720p. The license is Tencent's Hunyuan Community License, not plain Apache — with territory and usage restrictions worth reading before commercial self-hosting.

That setup tax is why most creators use a hosted service. SeedDance runs comparable frontier engines — Seedance 2.0 and Kling 3.0, marked "similar" in the generator above — so the same kind of shot is a prompt away: no GPU, first two videos free, no account.

Perguntas frequentes

Hunyuan Video, answered

What is Hunyuan Video?

Hunyuan Video is Tencent's open-source AI video model family — a 13B+ original (Dec 2024), an image-to-video variant (Mar 2025), and the consumer-GPU-focused HunyuanVideo 1.5 (Nov 2025). See the full explainer above.

Is Hunyuan Video free?

The weights are free to download and self-host if you have the GPU. On SeedDance your first videos on comparable engines are free to try — no card required — plus free daily credits with an account.

Does this page run Hunyuan Video itself?

No — generation here runs on comparable frontier engines (Seedance 2.0, Kling 3.0), marked 'similar' in the model picker. To run Hunyuan itself, grab the weights from the Tencent-Hunyuan GitHub or Hugging Face.

Is this the official Hunyuan site?

No. Official homes are the Tencent-Hunyuan GitHub organization and hunyuan.tencent.com. SeedDance is an independent platform.

Can I run Hunyuan Video locally?

Yes, with caveats: the original 13B model wants ~45–60GB VRAM; HunyuanVideo 1.5 runs on high-end consumer cards (roughly 8–24GB depending on quantization and offloading) at 480p–720p, several minutes per clip.

Is Hunyuan Video really open source?

Weights and code are public, but the license is the Tencent Hunyuan Community License, not Apache/MIT — it carries territory and usage restrictions, so read it before commercial self-hosting.

Do videos here have a watermark?

No. Free and paid videos both download as clean MP4 files.

Can I use the videos commercially?

Videos you generate on SeedDance come with full rights, commercial use included. For self-hosted Hunyuan output, commercial terms follow Tencent's community license.

Hunyuan vs Wan — which open-source model is better?

Both lead the open-source pack: Wan has the larger ecosystem and tooling, Hunyuan 1.5 is praised for quality at a small size. One caveat on Wan — its open line stops at 2.2, so the native-audio versions (2.5+) are API-only, not self-hostable. Hosted here, comparable engines cover both styles — try your prompt and judge.

How long does a video take to generate?

Typically 40–90 seconds for a 5-second 1080p clip on this page — versus several minutes per clip self-hosting on a consumer GPU.
