What is Runway?
Runway is one of the original AI video companies — the New York lab whose Gen models put text-to-video on the map and whose tools have shown up in real film and TV production. Its current flagship is Gen-4.5, pitched on motion quality and prompt adherence, alongside a widening stack: Act-Two for performance transfer, Aleph for in-context video editing, and GWM world models.
That filmmaker focus comes with filmmaker pricing: the official app runs on a credit system where serious use lands on paid plans. It's the most common complaint attached to the brand — we broke the plans down in our pricing teardown.
